One of my friend says that one of the reasons that count for dark circles is hereditary...Is it true?

I believe that dark circles can be hereditary. I have dark circles, and most of family on my mothers side have problems with dark circles.

I never thought of that, but I suppose it can be, since I found out spider veins ran in the family, and my grandmother and mother have them pretty bad and I have a few faint spots of it. Dark eyes are problems with veins as well, so that makes sense.

I think for some it is but for some it just comes with health you know. IT just falls under that most of the time. There is a difference between dark circles and bags lol.

I'm sure the tendency to have dark circles can be heriditary, to some extent.  There are so many other factors than can affect the appearance of dark circles, though.

Sure they are hereditary.  The women in my husband's family all have deep dark circles under their eyes and my 13 mth old does as well.  They are dark enough people sometimes mistake it for a black eye or injury to her face.  I wonder how she's going to handle it when she starts going to school.

I believe most of the causes of dark circles are hereditary. Having inherited a similar traits like the propensity of thin skin under eyes, or the structural bones sure raise the bar of having dark circles. When I was younger i use to have barely noticible Dcircles, then i began taking a lot of sun(too much), causing extreme damage to the skin in my face, making the ones i already had to become stronger.

sometimes you can notice that even small kids have obvious dark circles under eyes...

i didnt have dark circles until 15-16, they progressively got worse, but I get it from my dads side of the family for sure, my dad has bad ones.
