i heard that cucumber is a good way to remove dark circles from under the eyes

I know that I've always seen this in movies and tv shows but never knew what it was for.  Not being a "girly-girl" I never thought about any benefits from it but I sure thought it looked funny as all get-out!  LOLOLOL  I didn't know what it was for until I joined this forum.  I feel like an idiot but that's nothing new... *grins*
