| Every once in a great while, Visine works really well for my under eye area - just apply it to the eye as usual. The same thing that gets the red out seems to effect a few peripheral blood vessels for me. The lubrication can't hurt either! |

| Haha...Visine is my answer to everything concerning my eyes. I guess because I know it works...well since I wear contacts, the other thing I use when my eyes hurt is contact solution. |

That makes sense!! The active ingredient in Preparation H is also a vasoconstrictor. I thought it was just an old wives tale that hemorrhoid cream helped under eye circles and puffiness. After reading the "What Dr Seckel Says About My Dark Circles Under Eyes?" article on this website, he suggested Preparation H for the naso-jugal fold or tear trough type of dark circles. I think this is the kind that I have. It might be embarrasing purchasing hemorrhoid cream, but if it works.
Active Ingredients Purposes
Phenylephrine HCl 0.25% Vasoconstrictor |

| Visine! I never even thought of that for my under-the-eye pouches. I'll have to try that next time I wake up looking like somebody gave me two black eyes. |

Is it really safe to put preparation H near the eyes? It sounds like it might not be a good idea, but I'm not sure how to tell..... |

I have heard about preparation h being used around the eyes since I was little. It was always said that the beauty pageant contestants used it. It was recommended by Dr. Seckel to the author of this site in the below article.

I read the ingredients and did a search online, and I read from many people who had tried it, that it worked very well for bags & puffiness. Below is a link to one of my finds which includes instructions/suggested use. It does state that you don't want to get it in your eyes, but if you do, simply flush with water. I am thinking about picking up a tube of the preparation h gel this week. I am hoping it helps.

| What about the prolonged use? Can they be used for a long time? I really doubt. Any drops that reduces inflammation will have atleast a little bit steroid and does this medicine is an exemption to it? |

| I have heard of both visine and preperation H and would advice it to be used in moderation and for short term only |
