I was looking into IPL Photo Facials for overall rejuvenation as I am now 32, and I have a very uneven, red, & ruddy complexion, a few fine lines, and terrible dark circles.  It was going to cost me close to $2,000, so I decided to look for a few cheaper alternatives to try first.  I purchased 5 Lumiere photo facials (clearing regime) for only $100 at a local tanning salon as they were running a special.  I had previously tried a generic Hylexin eye cream for 2 months with only a slight improvement on my circles.  However, I noticed even more & greater improvement in my dark circles after having completed my photo facials.  I don't have to wear the heavy cream concealer I usually use, and am now opting for a ligher powder concealer.  The dark circles aren't gone, but they have very noticeably faded & the puffiness I have under my left eye has also improved significantly.  I hope the improvement stays.  I am now considering going back for another round of photo facials, as in addition to the improvement on my dark circles, my complexion has very much improved.  They seem to offer this service at a lot of the tanning salons (I personally don't tan).  If you are interested & want to see before & after pics, please see the below link.  Also, if you want to save money, make sure that you ask for the price on Clearing Regime as this is usually much cheaper as the Regime has far less at home products.

About me: I have horrible dark circles. They appear to be the leaking vein type since they are dark blue / purple in color (not pigment related). I have had them for years and they are only getting worse. It is probably genetic for me, but wasn't helped by the fact that I suffer from allergies, used to be terribly anemic (vegetarian), and frequently don't get enough sleep. It almost looks as though I got into a fight (black eye). It doesn't seem to make a difference how much sleep I get the dark circles are still there. I only have a little bit of puffiness under my left eye.

My gosh, I'm sorry to hear about that. I've never actually seen anyone have this problem so severely.
I also did not know that it could be fixed with cosmetic surgery.
I was also using some concealer to temporarily fix my problem.

I don't think that dark circles can be cured with any cosmetic procedure.  The light therapy I did was for overall photo rejuvenation.  The improvement I see in my dark circles might be due to the overall increase in collagen helping to camouflage and make them less noticeable.  Similar to the temporary collagen injections dr.'s currently use to make dark circles less visible.  Hopefully they will come up with a permanent cure soon!!!

I guess a temporary solution is better than no solution at all!

And please do your best to not be anemic, even though you are vegetarian...eat some broccoli Smile

Please see their website at:  http://pathwaytobeauty.com/results/timing.htm

I paid only $100 for 5 sessions with their Clearing Regime.  That was a couple of months ago, and I am still seeing the results.  I am thinking about going in for another round since one side of my face was worse, and still needs some work.

I did 3 rounds of IPL and also noticed a small improvement, but only because I had some sun damage around my eyes and the IPL zapped it. I spent a grand and frankly, MAYBE I got a 10% improvement in the circles.
