Hi guys!
I am so glad I found this forum and to actually see that there are more people in the same situation as myself! Even though I feel for everyone of you!
I'm a 24 year old male and have had this problem since I was probably around 10 years old. They are hereditary. My father and brother has them too.
My circles are really bad and I think I have hollow infra-orbital rims. I am sick and tired of looking this way because I think I look reasonably good if to wasn't for these damned circles!!
After trying different creams and stuff without anything working I have decided to see a plastic surgeon to see if there is anything that can help me. But after searching a bit online it seems that there are really no good solution for this at the time I still have some hope that the PS will give me a positive answer... (I'll probably go some time next week for a consultation)
Sad to see that most of the posts here are really old, I hope this does not mean that everyone has given up?
Anyways, really nice to know that there are more racoons out there! |

Yes, many of the posts on this website are somewhat old. My experience
is that many of us Dark Circles sufferers try something, get discouraged,
take a vacation or something, then come back and try again.
Anyway, I am in a situation that is similar to yours. Thin skin in the
under eye areas and sunken eye sockets or something. All we can do is
keep on trying to get rid of our Dark Circles.
Let me know what the Plastic Surgeon, or Doctor, has to tell you. They
basically told me that they couldn't help me. Shucks! I don't know if there
is really any good treatment for Dark Circles. Anyone who makes the
discovery of a good treatment will be a rich, world-wide, celebrity in no time. |

So I can see why people need some time off.
I try to not think about it for as long as possible, but it often slips into my mind.
Anyway, I am really fed up with this now and would like to have normal looks, so I hope the PS can reccomend a procedure.
I heard that the injections only last for a few months, so that will not be an option. No one can afford having these shots 6 times a year!
Will let you know what she tells me! |

Ok, so I had a consultation today.
The doc could quickly tell me that there is no miracle solution for this problem. I think her words were "We can only do what we can do".
At least I got to know what kind of dark circles I have. She said that there was no pigmentation, so it was just the blod vessels showing through my thin under-eye skin.
So laser treatment would not have any effect on me. Also filler injections would not be of any help to me (even though I thought my circles were "sunken").
She could only reccommend a cream from the pharmacy, which I have little belief in.
So, where do I stand now?
Actually I have no idea. I have ordered zachs "Hollywood magic..." but after trying different creams I do not dare to hope it will work for me. Will just have to wait and see when it arrives in a week or so. |

Hi,
I'm another guy.. 24 as the one before with the same blimin problem of dark circles.. my problems started at around 16+?, i'm asian and had very very fair skin complexion(not anymore as skins darkened on face neck and have wrinkles) however my eyes are so badly sunken and dark that people always think i'm super tired and never sleep or am stressed out with black eyes.. doesnt help that it puts most women off too which can knock the self confidence quite alot!.. i've tried a few creams that dont help.. i've tried cucumber, potatos in honey (kept in fridge and used daily).. however most have been short term helpers only and really i've noticed most difference after have an ice cold shower when i look completly different after..i've tried vitamin tablets etc etc etc.. i was aneamic as a child but its so annoying as i've had my blood checked and every single thing came back to show that i'm a healthy individual(even though i dont feel like one)..
my personal opinion is that it could be due to suffering from dust/hayfever alergies although its not that bad in my opinion as i dont suffer as bad as most people with runny nose however it must be having some affect as the pressure i get around my tired eyes forhead and ears can be alot with constant burning feeling... it could also be due to diet, ie gluten/wheat, milk or something or another OR its could be due to a poor digestive system as i'm constantly bloated and feel stomach is irritated. I drink plenty of water so that cant be an issue.
i'm not sure what would help as i'm kinda at tethers end as although my father and aunts have dark eyes they didnt get them till well into their forties and not as early as i did... although my siblings seem to have got these bad eyes too... I so hate looking like an old man when i'm not.
sleep makes no difference although lifestlye change helps e.g. when i was on holiday in the alps my eyes looked fine all the time.. also i use my PC almost 12 hours a day in work and at home.. and being away helps i cant completly stop pc use due to work.. lastly my pc use started at around 15-16 too.. so i guess it could be due to that.?
what could be done?? dunno?? i try to keep hope and notice that onrandom occasion for no apparent reason my eyes look alot alot betterand people care to mention it..
i think it would take a massive massive lifestyle change to be rid of these permanently .. but at this time i cant see things changing.
thanks for looking.. i hope to hear back from you to share experiences in what has helped and considering how many people suffer from this issue i'm surprised there is no answer to correcting it. |
