I used to use Swiss Formula Vitamin K dark circle treatment. It worked fine for a few days, but after a couple of weeks it started to burn and left my skin irritated. Of course, I stopped using it. I've been worried about vitamin K products ever since, although it might have been some other ingredient.

Anyone else have a product horror story?

I am terribly allergic to nickel and years ago I bought a product that said it was hypoallergenic on the lable.  I guess I should have known that meant the substance within and not the packaging.  Within 2 hours of using the first bit, I started to blister on my face.  Once this happens it takes weeks and somtimes months to get rid of the dark places healing brings.  I was devastated and more than just a little angry. I can imagine how you felt when the bunring started!

I'm allergic to nickel, too! Do you have trouble wearing jewelry? I can only wear titanium rings because the impurities in gold and silver cause contact dermatitis.

I can't wear gold and even some silver will cause a reaction.  i have to always modify my make up brushes to cover the ferrules because even aluminum can have enough nickel to cause a break out.

Doesn't it just suck?

It is! I cannot wear my original wedding ring, engagement ring or various other beautiful, meaningful pieces of jewelry for more than an hour or two. I have found some titanium pieces with inlays of gold that don't actually touch the skin. I can wear those with no problem.

I have been complemented on my "platinum" jewelry Smile Actually, titanium and platinum don't look much alike, but I don't correct them.

I've tried loads - vitamin k creme, clarins under eye serum, L'Oreal Hydra Energetic Anti Dark Circles. All of them did nothing, and with the l'oreal i can't use it anymore as i wake up in the morning and my bags have massive lines in them.

Currently using Hylexin which i thought reduced them slighty initially, but now they seem worse than ever.

Also delved into Preparation H territory. It does seem to tighten the area slightly, but doesn't reduce dark circles much and you end up with very greasy and shiny skin.

So to summarise i've spent £100's and nothing works.

I never mess with those cheap Vitamin K products...well they look cheap to me.
I somewhat have an allergy to gold, it recently started after working somewhere where I was cleaning with rags that had bleach or some corrosive solution in the water and I wore jewelry...now if I wear gold rings and water gets under it, my finger breaks out and the skin is extremely dry for days.
I wish I knew what caused it.

I've never had a product cause me to break out, but I have bought several expensive ones that just plain didn't work. I'm not sure the answer to under the eye dark circles can be found in a bottle or a tube. I think it takes commitment to get plenty of rest, deal gently with the stress in your life, and follow a diet that wouldn't make your doctor's hair stand on end in horror. (Of course, I say this easily but I do none of these things.  Very Happy )
